I have a site (built on Dreamweaver) I have a hosting package - how do I upload it?
I'm sorry I'm such a luddite :(

You need an ftp program but if I remember correctly Dreamweaver can do this as well as create the site.

Somewhere in your account section of where you bought your hosting from you should find details of your FTP address. This will either be a set of numbers looking like 123.456.789.00 or an address that is like ftp.yourwebsite.com

This is the easiest way to get your website online. You can type the FTP number or address into the address bar in your browser, and it will bring up an Explorer window - from here you will be able to transfer the HTML files from your computer to your website by dragging and dropping.

Hope that helps - if not you are free to give me a ring, my number's on my main website acrylik.co.uk - but I'm away now until Monday, and am not taking that phone with me, so try me next week!

In the meantime - good luck!

Thanks both - my host has an ftp account for me but the directory is empty. I'm so confused - I guess I'll have to ring them up but it's really dear - tightwad and a luddite - not good - lol
